2015 and 2016-2030. The authors revised these scenarios to obtain a working paper, that was submitted to around 50 specialists from Colombia and Brazil for validation on the following themes: climate change and environmental sustainability; governance and development policies; advances in know-how (biotechnology and nanotechnology);

 

epidemics, pests, and contamination of food; economic and social development; and, traditional knowledge (appreciation of it and its inclusion in R&D).

The validation process entailed an evaluation of the plausibility of each description of these variables in the different scenarios and time periods, using a ten-point scale,
